On Prayers, The Heart, And Love

Laredo Day 59: People always say that prayers are often windows to one's heart. When a 9 year old prays for his mother it begins with "thank you Lord for my mother, she's so pretty..."

On Worship And Theology Of The Cross

May the words of Christ be on hearts and on our lips. Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. “For whoever wishes to save his 1life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it" (Matthew 16:24f).

Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee
E'en though it be a cross that raiseth me
Still all my song would be nearer, my God, to thee

- Sarah F. Adams (1805-1848)

On Early Birds

Laredo Day 57: today David and I went to early morning prayer. I get home and lay down. What's the first thing a 9 year old does when he gets home? He goes and wakes up his brother and then runs into his parents room to wake them up. Sorry :(

On Manners, Chicken, And Fatness

Laredo Day 55: I literally ate a whole chicken for dinner. When Koreans make chicken soup, they give you a bowl with broth and a full chicken. I'm not proud of myself, but at least I'm not hungry.
